Loving Earth’s Virgin Cacao Butter is pressed from raw criollo amazonico cacao beans grown by the indigenous people of the Peruvian Amazon in the foothills of the Andes Mountains.For centuries, they’ve tended their cacao in the shade of taller trees such as mango and avocado in a system of traditional permaculture that leaves the rainforest undamaged and does not necessitate artificial pesticides or fertilizers. They handle their beans with care, fermenting them at low temperatures to preserve their nutrients and refraining from the antioxidant-destroying roasting process.
